Mushroom Stroganhoff/ Stroganhoff with Buttered Rice

You know this is going to run for a month don't you....so fasten your belts and keep watching for beautiful combo meals this week, as  I  lay buffet on the table....

Today's combo meal is from scandinavia , stroganhoff is now so popular that its origin may not be known to many. It is believed to be originated somewhere in russia but now popular all over the world.

It is the  classic case of simple ingredients turning into something beautiful and rich.

Ingredients
1 cup chopped mushrooms (Button)
1 onion finely chopped
2 garlic cloves crushed
1 tspn all spice (optional)
1 tspn paprika crushed
1 tspn lemon juice (optional)
salt to taste
1 tbsp Olive oil
2 tbsp sour cream (cream and buttermilk mixed and set to ferment for few hours)

Method
1) Saute onion and garlic in olive oil in a non stick pan for few minutes
2) Next add the mushrooms and cook it until it is soft and tender and most of the water is evaporated
3) Add the paprika, all spice and salt
4) Next add the sour cream and quickly and gently mix it
5) Remove from heat and add the lemon juice

Serve with rice or noodles...Buttered rice goes very well.

You may also add cooked chicken, paneer or tofu to this.
