Sheer Pira/ Afghani Sweet

Sheer Pira has been a resident sweet since last year diwali when I made it first. Such a simple recipe that you would not hesitate to make it again and again. The best part is that it is full of flavor and nourishment that it works perfectly well for the kids.
Packing a few pieces off to school cause no harm especially on days they miss their glass of milk.

Ingredients
4 cups of Milk Powder
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 cup crushed walnuts
2 tspn cardamom
2 tspn rosewater
1/4 cup crushed pistachios for garnishing

Method
1) Place the sugar and water in a saucepan over low heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.
2) Simmer, without stirring, for 10–15 minutes, or until a thick syrup forms. Do not allow the syrup to colour. 3) In a bowl mix the milk powder, cardamom, rosewater and walnuts
4) Pour over the hot syrup and quickly combine well. Pour mixture into a shallow dish and scatter with the ground pistachios. Stand for 30 minutes or until cool and set. Cut into diamonds or squares to serve.
