Pate/ Sunflower Seeds Pate/ Vegan Spread

Pate is like our Indian chutneys that are useful to top breads and finger foods. Most Pate recipes from the France and neighbouring countries are made using sausages or meat. I found a vegan recipe which is equally popular so decided to give it a try. 


1 cup sunflower seeds (dried, soaked in water for an hour if possible)
1 tspn red chill

1 cup sunflower seeds (soaked for an hour in water)
1 spring onion with greens
few cloves of garlic
2 tspn lemon juice
2 tbsp Olive oil
1 tspn soaked red chillies
1 tspn black pepper
salt to taste

1)  Mix all and grind to a coarse paste.

Spread on carbs of your choice or serve as dips for vegetable sticks.
