Burnt Garlic Rice
Dont get put off with the name, this is very beautiful and delicious dish that you can eat on its own. So while it is Bheem and Ben 10 for my little one, I settled for "b for burnt".
I first ate this dish in an elaborately arranged buffet at a fancy fine dine and must admit that this was the only dish that satiated my palette from the range. It had a mild flavor and was melting in the mouth. I am wary of falling for rice based dishes as one can end up consuming more than the stomach demands for and I am personally a big victim of stocking up the goodness in patches i hope you understand the indication...
Well, I still end up making this dish at home as one it is quick and other it is super tasty.
Ingredients
1 cup long grained rice (Basmati)
2 tspn chopped garlic
2 tspn butter / Oil
1 spring onion greens only
salt to taste
black pepper to taste
Method
1) Cook the rice with 2 cups water in open pot. Add a tspn of oil while cooking.
2) In another pan, heat the oil or butter. Add the chopped garlic pieces and roast it till it is slightly brown and gives a burnt aroma. Remove and set aside
3) Add the rice, salt and pepper to the pan.
4) Sprinkle with burnt garlic and spring onion and serve hot.
You can serve light soy based gravy to go along or thai or asian style vegetable gravy to go along.

btw why the Linky tool in the top and bottom?
This was the only veg dish that appealed to me in Mainland China (is that where you went to, too??).. and I keep making these often... even for a non-garlic lover, this is manna come home !
