Savoury Canapes
This one is an easy recipe and always clicked with all. It works for more than one reason, it is easy to make, it is neither spicy nor bland, it can be made ahead of time, it is a light snack and yet can be filling
Anyway enough of bragging, I made these at the BM 25 meet as my dish for the BM chef search. Intention was to make a platter of canape toppings.
It took me this long to actually post the recipe...
Ingredients
Canapes
Filling 1 - Cream corn
1 cup boiled corn kernels
2 cups milk
1 tbsp grated cheese (optional)
1 tspn corn flour
1 tspn black pepper powder
1 tspn green chilli finely chopped
1 tspn butter
salt to taste
Filling 2 - Spicy Paneer
100 gms paneer
1 tspn garam masala
1 tspn red chilli paste
1 tspn ginger garlic paste
1 tspn green chilli paste
1 tgspn dry mango powder
salt to taste
Filling 3 - Corn mixture
1 cup boiled corn kernels
1 finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped tomato
1 finely chopped green chilli
1 tspn lemon juice
salt to taste
Method
1) In a pan roast the butter, add the cornflour, and milk stirring continuously.
2) When the milk starts becoming thicker, add the cheese, corn, green chilli and seasonings
3) Let it become thick and then cool down.
4) In another pan, add grated paneer and all other spices and mix well. Take off from the flame and let it cool
5) In a bowl, mix the corn , onios, tomatoes, lemon juice and salt and chilli.
6) Serve these toppings in canapes and serve
