Raw Mango Relish/ Kachya kairi che kees

When you are obsessed with a fruit, you will end up making variety of dishes using it. My love for mangoes is making me obsession struck. Raw mangoes, ripe mangoes, big mangoes, small mangoes, I am using all of them in my kitchen.

I have posted on variation using onions, this one is rather simple and quick fix and is a dish on its own to eat if you like. Posting under blogging marathon's traditional theme




Ingredients
2 raw mangoes peeled and grated
1 tspn red chilli power
1/2 tspn turmeric powder
2 tspn grated jaggery or sugar
salt to taste
for tempering
1 tspn oil
1 tspn mustard seeds
a pinch of asafoetida

Method
1) Prepare the tempering, by heating oil in a small pan
2) Add the mustard seeds. When the crackle, add the asafoetida
3) Remove from fire
4) In a bowl, mix the other ingredients and pour the tempering on top
Serve with your meal
