Puneri Aloo Jeera/ Batatyachi bhaji/ Potato Cumin side dish

Like I said in the magic mingle's announcement post, alo jeera is a staple veggie in most maharashtrian households.
It is a simple dish but when made with precision and lots of love it simply catapults into a classic. I think that's why it has become so famous even if as "Puneri" . Offlate I spotted it in quite a few lunch buffet menus...like the Meluha (rodas)  and renaissance.

Any way, cutting the long story short for this wonderfully simple recipe

Ingredients
2 cups thinly sliced potatoes (peeled and washed)
2 tspn cumin seeds
1 tspn chopped green chillies
2 dry red chillies
salt to taste
2 tspn vegetable oil
salt to taste
Chopped coriander and lemon for garnish
Method
1) In a large wok, heat the oil
2) Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter
3) Add the red chillies, green chillies and the chopped potatoes.
4) Cover and let it cook until the potatoes are cooked (about 8-10 min). Check by pressing one of the pieces of potato, it should pass easily
5) Add the salt and chopped coriander

Serve with varan bhat and a slice of lemon.
