Kothimbir wadi

All my crunchy dishes for Kids when narrated to mom, her reaction was - disengaged. She says all that I claim to be child hood memories are really the adulthood days food which were basically food on demand. Those one off cooked meals that mothers make to please their fussy eaters.
She said what she really made for us were things that are authentic maharashtrain snacks. I will cover a detailed list in one of future blogs. For now, I decided to make one to please her. The simple to make and delicious to taste kothimbir wadi, which is basically Coriander Cutlet(for the lack of good word).

Ingredients
1 cup of chick pea flour
1 bunch of chopped coriander
1 tspn green chillies
1 tspn ginger garlic paste
1/4 tspn garam masala
1/2 tspn turmeric powder
salt to taste
a pinch of baking soda (optional)
Oil for frying
Method
1) In a bowl mix all ingredients except the Oil with water to form a idli batter consistency (thicker then pancake/dosa)
2) Spray some oil on a dish that can be steam (use a dhokla plate). Pour the batter in it and steam the mixture for 15 minutes. The wadis should be well cooked in the centre.
3) Let it cool. Then cut in small pieces (cookie size).
4) Heat oil in a pan to shallow fry or deep fry as per choice. Fry the wadi's on high heat until they are crispy and crunchy.
5) Serve with green chutney or sauce.
Tip: You can use a variety of flour's instead of chick pea - tell me what you used for variety.
